Sam Hill celebrated his birthday in style this weekend, taking honours again at La Thuile in Italy, ahead of Martin Maes in 2nd place and a great result for Eddie Masters in 3rd place, Elite Men. The WA downhiller-turned-enduro-specialist winning all the stages but one amongst the picturesque mountain backdrops of the Italian Alps.

In the Women’s, Cecile Ravenel again took the win with a clean sweep of all but one stage ahead of Isabeau Courdurier and Ines Thoma.

For an idea of Sam’s pace and the views on Stage 2 (Day 1), the team at EWS organised this helicopter chase-cam:

Joe Nation finds and exceeds the limit of this dusty corner in practice.
Another dominant performance for Ravenel
With a view like this at the start queue, would you rather wait?

Eddie Masters, showing huge form in Petzen-Jamnica and now La Thuile EWS rounds.
