Fort William. The legendary venue, with a huge 550m+ vertical drop from top to bottom, is a mainstay of the UCI downhill calendar. From the top alpine section with rocky corners and drops, descending through to the woodlands and finishing with a final motorway section with some of the most photographed jumps on the circuit, the track is always a tough test for all competitors.
Scottish racer Ben Cathro rode the course with Lachlan Blair, in his own special commentary style. A few changes apparent from last time, with a number of new limestone slabs and fresh dirt in the turns. A new entry to the woods section that sent a few riders straight into an over-the-bars and some tweaks lower down.
For a refresher on how it went down last year, who could forget Jack Moir’s first UCI downhill 2nd place. Greg Minnaar showed his dominating form of this venue to take 1st place, and over in the Women’s, Tracey Hannah took the win.

Racing is underway June 2nd – stay tuned until then!
